What is Co-op U?
A training and support program that helps teams develop a worker-owned business. It’s a virtual program in partnership with Co-op Cincy and Cleveland Owns.
Participants in our co-op u:
Adapt a proven, replicable business model and develop a successful business plan of your own
Benefit from weekly virtual trainings, 1-on-1 mentorship, and technical assistance, as well as hands-on training by professionals
Receive assistance incorporating and structuring your business
Have an opportunity to access financing
How long is the program?
Our Co-op U lasts 14 weeks, with participants meeting virtually from 6-8 PM EST on Wednesdays.
In addition to weekly evening sessions, participants are expected to dedicate additional time (2-5 hours a week) to conducting research, interviewing potential customers and partners, and testing your product or service

Who is the program designed for?
Teams of at least 2 Ohio residents with a business idea
cost
$250 - $2,000 : after scholarships are applied
Co-op Dayton is making Co-op U affordable for teams of aspiring cooperative founders by offering sliding scale partial scholarships.
The 14-week program costs $3,000 for each Dayton team. When applying we ask how much your team can afford for this training, and Co-op Dayton will cover the difference up to $2,750.

Co-op U is a virtual program in partnership with Co-op Dayton, Co-op Cincy, and Cleveland Owns.
Our Co-op U is based on Lean Startup principles and practices. It also incorporates a variety of insights and practices utilized at Mondragon’s premier cooperative incubator, Saiolan.
Note: Participants do not need to already be in business. Co-op U is designed to support teams in the early stages of their business, including the idea stage.
